Charlotte Police Arrest 67-Year-Old Man After Two Wells Fargo Robberies in One Day

Country 103.7

The incident began when Watson entered the Wells Fargo at the corner of Sardis Road North and Monroe Road around 10:36 a.m., demanded money, and fled without any cash.

About two hours later, at 12:37 p.m., the same suspect robbed another Wells Fargo at 301 S. Tryon St. in Uptown, again demanding money.

“Put all the money in the bag. Be fast. If you don't do that, my friends are outside,” Watson allegedly said, according to WSOC-TV.

The second teller followed Watson's orders, putting $3,000 into a bag he set on a counter, along with two hidden tracking devices. The trackers allowed Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers to apprehend Watson one block from the bank and take him into custody 15 minutes following the incident, according to WSOC-TV.
