Tracking device helped arrest bank robbery suspect, police say

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department says it took them about 20 minutes to arrest an accused bank robber who unknowingly fled with a tracking device.
Police said just after 9:30 a.m. on Monday, they were alerted by their communications center that the tracking device was moving away from a bank in the 100 block of E. Euclid Ave.
DMPD says dispatchers gave real-time movements for officers in the area. They were able to surround the suspect, who was carrying bags, while he was heading into a garage in the 3800 block of E. 8th St.
