Two Georgia women charged with defrauding Amazon of nearly $10M

Two Georgia women have been sentenced in a fraud scheme for stealing nearly $10 million from Amazon.
Brittany Hudson and Kayricka Wortham executed the scheme in 2022 over a six month period, according to federal prosecutors.
Warrants say the two submitted more than 1,000 fake vendor invoices to Amazon to get reimbursed for goods and services.
At the time, Wortham worked as an Amazon warehouse operations manager, and Hudson owned a delivery company that contracted with Amazon.
The two used $9.4 million they collected to buy an expensive home, and two luxury cars.
They were charged in 2022, and while they were out on bond they tried to defraud another company in 2023.
Hudson was sentenced to 16 years in prison this week. Wortham was previously sentenced, and will serve 17 years.
The couple is ordered to pay Amazon back and forfeit their home and vehicles.
