WCTV
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Six people have been arrested in connection with a $900,000 check fraud scheme.
Ivan Crummie is the latest arrest in a rampant check fraud conspiracy spanning from November 2022 to March 2023, according to court records.
Crummie is facing a slew of charges including, aggravated white collar crime, money laundering and organized scheme to defraud.
According to court documents, Crummie was allegedly one of several people receiving photos of checks payable to the Florida Department of Financial Services. These photos were used to create fraudulent checks that were then deposited into various bank accounts, documents show.
Arrest papers show text messages between Crummie and Dequan Denson, who was arrested in February in connection with the scheme, contained around 76 photos of checks.
