Sidney bank robbery ends with suspect fleeing in vehicle, crashing into patrol car, striking residence

SIDNEY — A suspect in the Monday afternoon robbery of Sidney’s Longview Bank was arrested later in the day after a police pursuit ended in a crash, according to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Dustin Heuerman announced late Monday that Caleb Estabrook, 32, of Champaign, was taken into custody after a search of his vehicle revealed evidence of the robbery, including clothing and recovered currency.
He'll face charges of robbery and aggravated fleeing and eluding, the sheriff said.
Around 1:45 p.m. Monday, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the bank branch in response to a "hold-up alarm," Heuerman said.
