KALB 5

FOREST HILL, La. (KALB) - A man was arrested following an attempted armed robbery at Sabine State Bank in Forest Hill on Oct. 15, according to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office.

RPSO said deputies responded around 9:35 a.m. Authorities learned that a man with a backpack entered the bank and demanded money. There were no injuries reported, and the amount of money taken was unclear.

RPSO said William Randle Mitchell, 42, formerly of Ville Platte, was identified as a suspect. He was located around 9:50 a.m. in a wooded area off Perkins Road in Forest Hill and arrested.

RPSO collected evidence at the scene, including a note used during the robbery that allegedly made threats to the Forest Hill Junior High School involving a possible explosive device.
