Man accused of robbing same bank for second time ordered to stand trial
WTAQ
APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The suspect in a bank robbery who told police he did it to be taken to jail rather than be homeless was ordered Wednesday to stand trial.
Martin Scheidermayer is scheduled to return to court Jan. 29 to enter a plea to one count of robbery of a financial institution, court records show.
Scheidermayer allegedly robbed the Wells Fargo Bank, 118 S. State Street — just a block west of the Appleton Police Department headquarters — on Jan. 14. He then waited in a nearby parking lot to be arrested. The $2,000 he took was recovered, the criminal complaint states.
