FBI Warns of Imposters Scamming College Students, Urge Reporting

NEW JERSEY – As college students head back to campus for the spring semester, the Philadelphia Field Office of the FBI has issued a warning for students to be aware of scams involving foreign government impersonators.
The FBI said that since 2022 they have seen an increase of criminal actors impersonating Chinese police officers to defraud the U.S.-based Chinese community. The agency said that international chinese students in the New Jersey-Pennslyvania area have been targeted specifically.
