Thieves steal nearly $40K from ATM, officials say

MASON, Tenn. - Two men stole nearly $40,000 from an ATM outside of a Mid-South bank Monday morning, according to the Town of Mason.
The bank robbery happened just before 2 a.m. at the Bank of Mason on Highway 70. Two men with a crowbar "pulled and pried" at the ATM, eventually getting it open.
Officials said the two thieves stole four cassettes containing $38,660.
