Three people arrested in Fargo ID theft case

(FARGO, ND) – Three people have been arrested in connection with an identity theft case at a bank in Fargo.
Joel Rodriguez, Alisha Magar and Aerige Majhi are all charged in connection to the incident, which happened at Fargo’s Gate City Bank on 13th Avenue South.
Aerige Majhi
Majhi is charged with a single Class C Felony for conspiracy to commit unauthorized use of personal identifying information.
According to court documents, it was also found that a check was filled out for $200 in Majhi’s name.
Majhi was arrested and will appear in court again December 19 for a preliminary hearing.
Alisha Magar
Magar is charged with a pair of Class C Felonies for unauthorized use of personal identifying information and for conspiracy to commit unauthorized use of personal identifying information.
Officers observed what they thought was a hand to hand transaction between Magar and Rodriguez. Later, officers said Magar attempted to cash a check made out to the victim in the amount of $180. Later in the evening, according to court documents, officers responded to the same bank, where Magar was again trying to cash another check from the victim’s account. Officers were unable to locate Magar upon arrival, as they left after bank representatives attempted to stall them.
