Detroit Free Press
He was part of a group that federal prosecutors said dubbed itself the "Clear Gods."
Now, a Southfield man could spend up to 20 years in federal prison for being one of seven people in the group accused in a sophisticated, $28 million cellphone upgrade fraud scheme.
Delano Bush, 34, known as "Lano" or "Duzz" per court records, pleaded guilty Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Detroit to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in the scheme that spanned multiple states, federal prosecutors said.
The seven, all in their 30s, were indicted by a federal grand jury in September 2022. Federal prosecutors previously said they were charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.
