Scam Alert: Bank fraud text scams
OMAHA, Neb. — A Nebraska resident recently lost hundreds of dollars because of a bank fraud text scam.
Josh Planos with the Better Business Bureau has more on how to spot these fraudsters.
Scammers will send a text to someone and impersonate a bank. The message will look like a fraud alert, and the victim will be asked to respond YES or NO to dispute a charge. Once someone responds, the scammer knows they have an active user to target and ultimately ask for a form of payment to rectify a situation.
