$200 Million Lost: 4 Stimulus Check Scams and How to Avoid Them

The second stimulus check for $600 being distributed to Americans has led to unprecedented online scams that broke the $200 million milestone.
The FTC has received more than 275,643 reports of fraud relating to Coronavirus, costing victims more than $211 million. Google reported during the first stimulus it was blocking 18 million scam emails every single day; and 150,000 fraudulent stimulus check sites were launched.
With a third stimulus for $1.9 trillion being negotiated in congress, Americans must be on alert and know how to protect themselves right now and going forward.
