Common Defense has launched as an AI-native cybersecurity company designed to protect organizations from AI-powered social engineering attacks, phishing, deepfake voice and video calls, account takeovers and impersonation, across every communication channel employees use.
Common Defense was built by Quantstamp, a leading cybersecurity company that has secured more than $500 billion in digital assets across 1,300+ audit engagements.
The timing is not incidental. On August 31, Financial Stability Board chair Andrew Bailey warned G20 finance ministers that AI's impact on cyber risk is the most immediate concern for the global financial system, saying the technology could change the speed, scale and economics of an attack, according to Reuters.
Bailey, who also serves as Bank of England governor, added that many countries still lack adequate protocols to manage advanced AI models.
