Austin woman arrested after police seize thousands of pieces of stolen mail, hundreds of bank cards

KWTX Waco TX 10

AUSTIN, Texas (KWTX) - A woman was arrested following a police investigation of mail theft, identity theft and fraud that resulted in the seizure of thousands of pieces of stolen mail, hundreds of suspected stolen bank cards, stolen postal keys and other evidence, according to a report by the Austin Police Department.

Austin police arrested Elizabeth Rozo, 42, in the investigation into credit card or bank card abuse.

According to the police report, after an arrest warrant was issued for Rozo, officers located her vehicle at an apartment complex in the area of Tech Ridge Boulevard in North Austin.

Rozo exited the apartment complex and entered her vehicle, police said. Officers followed her and conducted a traffic stop.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found approximately 400 suspected stolen bank cards, nearly 300 gift cards, two counterfeit “Arrow Keys” and other evidence, police say.

Police described Arrow Keys as specialized keys commonly used to access large, cluster-style mailboxes and can facilitate the theft of larger quantities of mail.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Rozo’s apartment, where they recovered additional evidence associated with mail theft, identity theft and fraud, according to the statement.
