WYFF 4

ANDERSON, S.C. —

A hospital system in the Upstate is experiencing a phone and internet outage, affecting operations.

AnMed has hospitals across the Upstate and Northeast Georgia, mostly concentrated in and around Anderson County.

Sources within the hospital tell us this was the result of a cyberattack. We have reached out to AnMed for information, and they provided the following statement:

"We are currently experiencing a cybersecurity disruption involving malware that is impacting our network. We are working diligently to return our systems to full functionality as quickly as possible with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity specialists as well as state and federal authorities.
