WASHINGTON (TNND) — A new report allegedly showed fraudsters collected millions from Medicaid and food stamp programs using stolen Social Security numbers and dead people's identities.
According to the new report shared with Daily Signal by the Foundation for Government Accountability, one case showed a Social Security number was tied to 15 employers across 14 states within a three-month period.
The foundation noted that there is currently no federal requirements for states to verify who someone is before they enroll in Medicaid or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
