According to an affidavit of probable cause, Cheyenne police responded to a report of fraud on Feb. 26. Krystal Sherree Munoz, born 1985, reportedly tried to write a check for $832.17 to purchase tools, but a store employee checked a database and discovered the account was closed.
The employee told police that Munoz had used another check from the same account the previous evening to buy $555.41 worth of tools. During that transaction, a different worker made a clerical error and didn’t verify the check’s validity, the court document states. In total, the value of the two checks was $1,387.58.
