Kansas City man pleads guilty in stolen U.S. Treasury check fraud scheme

KMBC.com

A Kansas City man pleaded guilty Tuesday to a bank fraud in a scheme involving stolen and altered U.S. Treasury checks.

Jevon Crudup Jr., 28, admitted in court to depositing at least 15 forged Treasury checks using bank accounts of individuals he met online.

Court records state that Crudup convinced account holders to provide him with their debit cards and PINs, claiming he would help them make money.

Authorities say Crudup deposited a check worth more than $18,000 in April 2023 into one of the compromised accounts.
