A Knoxville man who pleaded guilty to charges related to a March 2024 robbery of Clinton National Bank in Delmar has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Pursuant to a plea agreement, Jeffrey Brian Bettis, 38, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree robbery, a Class B felony. On April 3, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison on each count, with credit given for time served in Clinton County Jail in connection with the case. Iowa Code requires a minimum of 50% of the sentence for each count be served.
According to court documents, Bettis was identified by video surveillance after he had entered Clinton National Bank on Western Avenue in Delmar at about 12:30 p.m. on March 8, 2024, with a stocking cap pulled down over his face that had holes cut into it at his eyes and mouth.
