OMAHA, Neb. —
An Omaha man will serve time in prison after admitting to nearly two dozen bank robberies.
Demitrius Alston, 34, was sentenced Wednesday in federal court to more than 19 years in prison for bank robbery, attempted bank robbery, and conspiracy to commit interference with interstate commerce by way of robbery.
Alston, who was indicted in 2020, is the last defendant to be sentenced in a conspiracy to rob federally insured banks across Nebraska, South Dakota, North Carolina, and Iowa from 2015 to 2020, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
