SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A wide-reaching attempt to scam non-profits has targeted a number of South Dakota organizations.
KELOLAND News first reported this back on February 13, 2024, when the Sioux Falls based St. Francis House revealed an authentic-looking cashier’s check for $191,250 had been received, but had been flagged by the bank.
The reason for the red flag? The amount — $191,250 — and the fact that other checks were uncovered with the same serial number.
