SWANSEA — Public schools in the town canceled school on Wednesday after the district was hit with a cyber attack.
Superintendent of Schools John Robidoux announced the closures for all six of the district's schools in a tweet Tuesday evening.
"Due to (a) ransom ware attack, our network is shutdown. School is canceled tomorrow 1/4/23," he said.
A ransomware attack is a form of malware attack in which someone locks an organization's or individual's data or files and demands a payment to relinquish them.
