Attempted robbery at Bassfield bank under investigation
Bassfield, MS
PRENTISS, Miss. (WDAM) - The Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Department is looking for at least two suspects who were involved in an attempted robbery Thursday afternoon at the Regions Bank in Bassfield.
According to a release on the JDCSD’s Facebook page, the department received a call about 2:52 p.m. from the bank about a robbery in progress.
Upon arrival, deputies and JDCSD Investigator Vernon Dampier spoke with witnesses, who said a “subject” dressed in black from head to toe came into the bank waving a black-handled pistol, demanding money.
According to bank employees, the subject was a black female, standing approximately 5 feet, 7 inches, and weighing about 200 pounds.
