MN Bank Customer Has Identity Theft and Check Fraud

FRPA received the following information from a member.
We have experienced an identity theft incident where our customer's purse was stolen. In her purse, was her ID. The thief used the customer's ID to pose as the customer to cash two different stolen checks. In each situation, the thief posed as the customer and was able to quickly provide additional forms of ID and answer our teller's further questions. We've reported this to local authorities who have stated they have seen an increase in complex ID theft cases like we've experienced. Included are copies of the stolen checks.
