At issue: the onslaught of ID theft attempts

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Better Business Bureau is warning that scam artists are pretending to be online retail giant Amazon in an attempt to steal your identity.

The consumer advocacy organization says people across the country are getting phone calls claiming that something is wrong with an Amazon order or delivery. Then they’ll ask for personal information, says Steve Bernas, president and CEO of the Chicago and Northern Illinois office of the BBB.
