Online Fraud Is Bad For Business And Customers

Almost every brand with an online presence is impacted by e-commerce fraud. This is based on 4.2 million fraud sites identified in our 2019 phishing and counterfeiting report that tracked fraudulent sites across more than 100 industries last year.
Once these sites go up, they're notoriously difficult to take down due to legal, jurisdictional and ownership issues. The takedown process is also hampered by sluggish or uncooperative hosting providers and registrars and the manual nature of validating fraud and removing the sites.
Unfortunately, the longer these sites stay up, the more damage is done to customers — and to the customer relationships with the business. That translates into hard dollars lost in the form of ongoing commerce with that consumer.
