DANE COUNTY (WKOW) - Several dozen Dane County victims of identity theft involving their driver's licenses continue to recover from the privacy invasion, as state officials boost safeguards with on-line orders for license duplicates.
Nine months ago, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation notified Verona's David Jameson someone had fraudulently ordered a duplicate of his driver's license.
"It's so invasive because it affects everything you do," Jameson tells 27 News.
"We received some credit cards, we received the license," a Verona woman tells 27 News. She asked her identity to be kept private in light of her victimization last year. "That's when we thought, 'We didn't apply for these.'"
